The Mellberg's - Mexico
Kirt and Debbie
Email: mellberg@tepic.megared.net.mx
Kirt and Debbie have invested 29 years in Mexico and have worked with nationals in establishing distinct churches among both, Mexican nationals and Huichol Indians. Each church, and every group of people with whom they have been privileged to work has been unique. The small village works have been known for their warm, "country" hospitality. The primitive Huichol Indian works are intriguing for their radical change to Christ from the worship of over 150 gods. In Tepic, they are presently working with city people in the Iglesia Bíblica Bautista de Tepic which now has an average of one hundred forty in attendance, a discipleship program, an Awana Club, and an active high school-college group. They are excited that God has opened up a greater ministry than ever and are confident that He has many more blessings in store. |

Primary Ministry Focus Training lay-Ieaders and pastors for the churches in Rwanda. The People The Rwandese are spiritually responsive. Churches are growing faster than leaders are being trained. Ninety percent of Rwandan churches are led by people with no Bible or pastoral training. Major Challenges Bureaucracy has kept the training program from building its own place for four years. Qualified staff are hard to find when so few church leaders have Bible training.
